A way not to refresh the library ...
(1/1)
InGearX:
I only used the folder structure to select and play (never artist / genre / albums / etc...)
so each time I want to add/modify files on FS - I need to wait for it to refresh the 32GB library
is there a way to disable this
in particular for Sandisk Sansa Clip+ 1.0 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?nm_mc=AFC-TechBargains&cm_mmc=AFC-TechBargains-_-NA-_-NA-_-NA&Item=N82E16855125127
Please advise
thank you...

Rockbox USB is mostly working now, so if you update to the current build you shouldn't need to use the Sandisk software's USB mode at all.

Hello InGearX,
do you mean the refresh of the database that rockbox does or when using the sandisk firmware? I think you can turn off the autoupdate function in rockbox in the settings menu.
To avoid the refresh of the database when adding/removing files using the sandisk firmware (that automatically boots when plugging my player into my computer, because I use Rockbox 3.10) I afterwards safely remove the player (in windows xp) and then switch off the player before unplugging it from USB. After that it boots right into rockbox and I don't have to wait for the database to refresh. (But I am using a clipv2, don't know if that works with the clip+ too)
Nice to hear that there is such great progress on the USB mode.
