Fuze v2 read-only
« on: December 20, 2011, 02:27:15 PM »
Hi-

I have a fuze v2 that suddenly became read-only and no matter what I do to format or reset it I can't fix it. I wonder if I have a dud because when it was working I had to plug and unplug the usb cable several times to make it connect to my computer.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I checked the filesystem on windows and linux.
And I've tried formatting it with windows, gparted, qtparted and fdisk.

I would try to rule out bad cable, bad USB port, or other factors that could result in a flaky connection.  Do you get full access to the microSD card or is that read-only too?

I don't think it a bad usb connection because it's also read-only from within rockbox. Also I can't test the uSD card because I lost it :-[.

What happens when you try to write in rockbox?
