New files Added aren't Gathering Runtime data
« on: December 08, 2011, 01:08:12 PM »
Hi all,
I'm new to this forum. Just installed Rockbox today on an iPod 4th gen. Rockbox is awesome.
One thing I'm curious about (probably because I'm a n00b):
Rockbox detected my already existing database, the songs that were on the iPod already. I then created a new folder on the iPod for my Ogg Vorbis tunes and added some. These files play no problem from the Ogg Vorbis "file" I created. However, the Runtime data doesn't seem to be gathering. After I play these songs, I cannot see them in "Recently Played," "Top Played." The only folder these songs show up in is "Recently Added."
I also "updated" the database, but I don't see this reflecting in the playlists.
Just wondering why this may be happening.
Thanks in advance.

Make sure you have the database set to automatically update, and to gather runtime data.

If you have, probably the database information changes are yet to be committed - it takes some time, usually after you wait some minues, tracks played start to show on the database :)
If you want to make sure that's what's happening, go to System -> Debug -> View Database info. (scroll down if needed). If Queue length is bigger than 0, then there are some changes to the database yet to be committed.
(exit out of the debug menu pressing the Back key until you're at the main menu)
