Art request: cabbev2 for 1024*768!
(1/1)
JdGordon:
Hi all,
I'm (slowly) workng on the WPS for the HP touchpad (1024*768 pixels) but I suck at gimp, so can someone please scale the cabbie sbs and wps background images for me?
My plan for the WPS is to mimick the 480*800 WPS on the left and have a compeltly new *stuff* on the right in a second 480*800 "screen". Of course because 768 < 800 some items needs to be moved around a bit to fit but I want to stay pretty close.
So yeah, anyone able to help out?

Sorry for reviving this old thread, but my request is similar and I didn't want to create a new thread.
I want to do a presentation of the rockbox project in class and want the slides to look like the cabbie theme, using the black gradient background and the yellow "Now Playing" bar on top of every slide. Are there images of higher resolution of that theme available. I know that cabbie for android is under development, but I could not find the themefiles.
Do I have to consider anything regarding copyright issues by using images of cabbie and doing a presentation of rockbox in general?
In addition any tips for the presentation are very appreciated.
Greetings,

I made some progress on a full-touch cabbiev2 for RaaA (Rockbox as an Application) a while back, but the highest resolution port I made is 480x800 (portrait).
I essentially stopped working on this, as not only was the style and functionality a contentious issue with a few very vocal yet influential people, but the direction in which RaaA was headed was very much up in the air, and still is. I didn't want to invest more time and effort continuing the ports until everyone had a clear, unified vision.
And now, I have bigger things in mind for the default theme. A "secret project" if you will.
But, I digress...
If I parse your post correctly, it seems to me that you are simply wanting (static) reference images? If this is the case, then I would suggest that you simply capture some screenshots of Rockbox in different states and resize them in <insert_editor_here> as opposed to painstaking mocking up images by hand. Rockbox can easily be configured to capture screen dumps by setting the toggle:
System -> Debug (Keep Out!) -> Screendump
(upon selection of this item you will see a splash on-screen showing the state of the setting)
After you have enabled screendump, USB insertion triggers a screenshot, and the images are saved to the root of the device. If you do not actually own a Rockbox capable device yourself, you can also do this with the simulators.
A suggestion I will make to aid you in getting uniform images would be to disable scrolling in the display settings, as scrolling text can look all different kinds of weird when trying to get a screenshot.

I knew I once saw your work on github, but I could not find the link anymore. Thanks for pointing me there.
Yeah I definitely will do some screenshots to demonstrate the features of Rockbox.
Thank you [Saint] and I am very curious about your "secret project".
