acapela voices in rbutil

(1/1)

claudiocpr:
hello,

rb-util's latest release doesn't work with acapela group voices. they are in sapi5 standard  but it seems they aren't supported.

somebody can add the specific tts engine?

bluebrother:
It would be helpful if you would be more specific with your issue. What exactly doesn't work? Rockbox Utility simply uses the SAPI system of Windows, so if the voice is SAPI it should work.

It doesn't look like Acapela is providing demo voices to try this. Is this correct?

claudiocpr:
the acapela's voices are in the list of sapi 5 (in control panel - and in the rbutil's combobox) but when i press test button in the rb-util's configuration dialog window it doesn't sound and if i try to create voice file it doesn't finish the process.

it is possible try the acapela voices. you can find engine, service pack 3 for engine and language  pach here:

And I assume you have checked that the volume is turned up? Do you get some feedback when trying a different voice like Microsoft Anna / Sam?

Also, if it shows up then it works, and there is no way to "add the specific tts engine". Also, how does "doesnnt finish the process" look like? I wouldn't be surprised if you're experiencing the known issue FS#12106. That issue shouldn't affect testing the voice though.

Why on earth have all those TTS vendor sites to be so extremely badly structured?
