Setting up the development tools
« on: November 29, 2011, 07:42:26 PM »
@Saratoga I'm gonna get the compiling stuff set up hopefully this weekend in Vbox. Is there an image with the cross compiler(s) already compiled and ready to go that I could just download and get the latest revision? Also how do I get the .zip OUT of the VM onto my real file system?

This has nothing to do with New Ports, so I moved it to the correct forum.

Regarding the build tools, check out sticky in this forum.

sorry. I didn't know how to delete the post. Felt stupid after posting it there.
Will do.
Still confused on getting compiled elements OUT of the VM.

I usually just mount my devices directly into the VM's USB ports.  But if you don't want to mess around with that, you can also use Windows file sharing to the VM, or create a shared folder from the host OS in the VM (although this is complicated enough that I would just use file sharing).  Since the VM has internet access, thats usually easier then messing around with sharing mount points between host and VM.

Vbox never manages to actually see any USB devices I try to attach to it. I'll just use my network then.
