Autoplay when PowerOn?
jolunda:
Hi!
Is it possible to have a device autoplay a predecided file when powered from socket?
The scenery is that my TVset autostarts when my PS3 i activated and i would like a sound at the same time.
Anyone?
bluebrother:
How is a TV and PS3 related to Rockbox? But as for Rockbox, you can't do that without coding it up yourself.

Hello there,
as I understand it jolunda wants a rockboxed player to start playback at powering on and the player is powerwise somehow connected to the other devices. Rockbox has a feature, that a player stops playback when it is connected to a cigarette lighter in a car or to a power adapter when power is turned off (car adapter mode).
I was always wondering why the opposite thing isn't possible, that means to start the player when it receives power from the cigarette lighter. Then you could set it to resume playpack as start screen and using a modified .cfg file to always start playing back a specific file.

We already do this on targets where its possible.

Thank you for the clarification saratoga,
so what jolunda is asking for is possible then if he has a device that boots when powered by a cigarette lighter or a docking station and then resumes playback.
What rockboxed devices can do that? I know that there are some issues withe the ipod accessory protocol, so not every docking station can be used.
