Where do you put the m3u files made in iTunes Export?
« on: November 23, 2011, 05:28:44 PM »
Where do you put the m3u files made in iTunes Export? I assume they go in the root directory next to the "root.m3u8" file. Is this correct?

Thanks.

Rockbox will play them no matter where you put them, but it might be worthwhile putting them in the /Playlists/ directory so they show up in the Playlist Catalogue.

Thank you Chronon. I put my m3u files in the Playlist directory and they did show up in "View Catalog". I select a playlist, a dialog box saying "loading..." appears, next I select "View Current Playlist" and the files in the playlist appear in a list with "(ERR)" in front of every file and they won't play. Same thing when I went to Files/Playlists, the playlists are there but won't play.

Have you looked inside the playlists? Copy an example line from the file showing the full path it includes for a song that doesn't play.

I don't understand what you mean by "look inside the playlists". Besides "View Catalog" or "View Current Playlist" how do you look "at" or "inside" a playlist? Where would I find those file examples with paths to copy? I've never seen files with the file paths anywhere.

Playlists are text files that list files to play.  I recommend notepad for reading them.
