Playing music while loading via usb (ipod video)

Is it possible to continue playing music while it is loading via usb? i went through all the settings, so either im blind or it is not possible.

also, i get that its not possible while the computer has access to the build in hdd, but when i use windows safe removal thingy, it shouldnt be an issue anymore, right?

also accessing the files from within windows is possible, but playback is a pain (computer at work is awful: 3.5mm ports are on the back and the computer itself is under the desk. additionally, my headphone cable isnt that long either).

You cannot access a hard disk from Rockbox while its loaded in Windows using MSC.

What are you actually trying to do?  If you just want to play music while charging, check out charge mode in the manual.  It disables MSC access while running off of a USB port.

but wouldnt this result into no charging while its connected via usb, making the connection pointless in the first place?

Why would it be called charge mode if it wasn't charging?
