Rockboy game transfers
«

I have scoured the internet to no avail about how to take the .sav files from rockboy and use them on an emulator to transfer pokemon between pokemon yellow and pokemon crystal. This is not completely relevant to rockbox, but I was wondering if anyone else has tried this and succeeded?

Since we use gnuboy as the emulator, I would try that on the PC and see if it understands the sav files.

I did, doesn't offer trades. Also many don't directly read .sav files. VBA does, but it does not support GBC trading.

To link gb and gbc games, you need to use TGB Dual, it's the only emulator that I'm aware of that can do trades for the first two gens of pokemon games.

TGB Dual does not read .sav files, or any file format that as far as I know that a .sav can be converted to. That said, if anyone knows an emulator and a format that could accept a converted .sav and trade, please feel free to mention it.

Yes it does... Sort of. It reads .sa1 and .sa2 files which just so happen to be .sav files with the last letter of the extension changed to the number corresponding to the screen that you're playing with.

Thank you very much Fizzmaister. I was able to use my intial .sav as is, and rename the other. You have literally saved me a few more hours of frustration.
