I've been using firmware 3.9(just updated to 3.9.1 last night), and all of a sudden a week or two Rockbox started acting a little funky on my Clip+.
After I add some music to it the Sansa firmware first updates its library, then I boot into Rockbox hold long on Database, then hit Update Now. This is how I've been doing things since I got my Clip+ six months ago and everything has worked fine. But lately after the Database updates, my new music will appear in the database...but the tracks show as 00:00. Meaning there's nothing there. When I try and play the track it won't play.
So what I've been doing is having to delete the newly added music then re-add it. Usually when I do this the music shows up as it should.
Now when this happens, if I don't look at the music through the Database the music appears to be fine. Meaning instead of going into the Database section of Rockbox I'll go into the Files section instead. I'll navigate to my microsd and then to my newly added music, and the track lengths won't be shown as 00:00. They'll be shown as they should. This only happens when I browse through the Database.
Has anyone else encountered this?
I was hoping the new firmware update will solve this, so I updated last night and threw on some music. But unfortunately it happened again.
Hopefully somebody can shed some light on this.
Thanks for any help.
EDIT: Now some of my folders are no longer showing up in Database. But they appear in Files. What the heck happened all of a sudden?
EDIT AGAIN: Ok, I did an Initialize Now update instead of my usual Update Now update, and the folders that were missing from the Database view but were appearing in the Files view or now appearing in the Database. And I just added some more music, did my usual Update Now, and the newly added tracks are showing their actual length time again. Instead of 00:00. So let's hope that continues.
Maybe somehow something got messed up and I needed to an Initialize Now(which took about a half an hour with my library) to fix whatever the error was? I really wish someone would chime in about this instead of simply reading my post then leaving...
