old versions viewers remain after updates

(1/1)

Hi!
I'm still a happy Rockbox user, but I have 2 files that don't update and stay marked in red in RBU:
.rockbox/rocks/viewers/bmp.rock   3.7.1
.rockbox/rocks/viewers/jpeg.rock   3.7.1

I'm using the latest versions of RBU and 3.9.1.
Do I have to/is it safe to/can I manually erase those files? Or is it just normal behaviour?

Digging in the the "rock" folder I've also found tv_file.dat that hasn't been updated since april 2011 and a folder called lua that has the same modification date as bmp.rock and jpeg.rock (february 2011).
Havind had problems with 3.8, I've been wondering since then if those files are junk files forgotten by the installer at that time...
Thank you  :) ;D

When we remove or rename a plugin, it doesn't get deleted from your player.  You can safely delete them, or just leave them alone.

Thanks! I've just seeing your answer.  ;D

Just for completeness:

Rockbox Utility does not clean up old files on update. You could uninstall the old build first, but we don't do this. The versions shown in red are considered outdated by Rockbox Utility. I want to implement some "cleanup" functionality that allows removing all those files since long but haven't gotten around it (and it's not really high on my todo list). If someone wants to contribute a patch please do :)
