For the use case you're mentioning, you could save various .cfg files with the different crossfade settings (and eventually other useful settings, such as volume, EQ...) for each time, and then just load the config files as the event goes on. Obviously, this would require someone to manually load the config files along with the playlists, but it's still better (and more noob-proof) than having that someone changing manually the settings for each playlist.
Something that I believe that has been discussed on the forums was the possibility of automatically loading a cfg file along with a playlist or music file (so e.g. EQ settings would be loaded automatically), but I don't think anything like that has been implemented.
In the best of the cases, you'll still need to manually load two files: the playlist/music file and the respective settings file.
