Sansa e260v2 forward or back buttons not functioning right

(1/1)

mmartin622:
My blind elderly father has been enjoying this player and the music I put on it for him, but sometimes he hits the buttons, which he can hardly feel, wrong.  Now, the "east" forward, "west"back buttons do not work as before.  They do not go to the next track when pushed.  The do other things  like going to other lists.  When he is listening to a track he can scroll and hear the lady announce a different track but when he selects it the man's voice comes on and says "loading que last" and the track keeps playing, not the new selected track. When he pushes the east button to go to the next track it will not go to the next track, it just keeps playing the song that was selected. It WILL automatically progress to the next song in the list, but he can't change it while it is playing.  I've gone to playback settings trying to find out WHAT is different and used the manual to help me but I can't figure out what has changed to make it do this.  Can anyone help me?  Thank you for your help in advance.

bluebrother:
Sounds like the Skip Length setting has been changed. Or Party Mode.

mmartin622:
What do I want Skip length to be on?  And I want Party Mode "on", right?

bluebrother:
You most likely want

Skip Length: Skip Track
Party Mode: Off
