Issue with battery meter and totally not reponding

I’ve been using rockbox (v3.9) on my Sansa Clip for a while now without any problems but something seems a bit strange all of a sudden. The battery meter has recently been showing completely full. This is different to when the battery is fully charged because the meter usually shows the smallest part of grey but now it is just completely yellow and doesn’t go down. I used it until the battery ran out and then recharged it but the problem is persisting. Just before the battery ran out the Clip turned itself off and was completely unresponsive for about half an hour, despite it being plugged in to my computer.

This morning I started it in the normal firmware mode (not rockbox) and then after half an hour or so turned it off and restarted in rockbox mode but instead of booting up I got an error that mentioned something about ‘underflow’ and then turned itself off again. Now it won’t turn on again.

Has anyone heard of these problems or is my Clip just dying?
