Rockbox Clip+ Playback Freezing

(1/1)

ilya:
I haven't been able to replicate the freezing reliably as it happens randomly during playback, (flac files from SD card) but it seems (unconfirmed )any kind of button pressing/user activity will prevent it. It takes as little as an hour if there isn't any user activity, but can take up to 3 hours. It's also not always a hard freeze, I can sometimes lock/unlock the buttons but playback is always unresponsive until I reboot. This doesn't happen with stock Sansa firmware and I'm currently recharging the player to test playback off of the main memory instead of SD.

Using Rockbox 3.9.1 and the Clip+ should be a version 1. (stock firmware is 01.02.09)

Now I don't know much about MP3 players and their firmware, but from my experience with computer hardware it seems like some sort of idle state issue. I've been searching around and haven't been able to find any recent similar issues. I was wondering if I may have missed any known issues.

I also get a popping noise when I turn the player on/off and sometimes during play/pause, is this normal for the Rockbox firmware? It doesn't seem to happen with stock firmware.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated, I'd like to continue using Rockbox as it gives me over double the battery life of the stock firmware.  :o (16 hours vs 7.5!!!)
