the latest firmware I downloaded from misticriver.net is really great. it doesnt support rvf though. ias there someway I can mix the video-patch into the latest ive got?

I think what you meant to say was that you downloaded the latest build from misticriver.net (the optimized builds), correct?  Because i wanted to know whether we could add the video-patch into it as well.

So heres what I found so far:

1) I've only gotten mpg files to play so far.  When the video starts playing, you have to make sure not to touch any buttons, otherwise the h120 may crash.  After about 10 seconds you can press any of the buttons.

2) AVI files do not display video as of yet (at least the ones I tried).  You can only get sound.

3) The rvf files that are created are actually very small in size, which is nice.  The conversion itself does not take that long either (obviously, the bigger the original file size, the longer it will take to convert)

4) As mentioned before, the video is displayed in the top left corner of the screen (it takes up about 25% of the whole screen).  Its not so tiny that you can't see whats going on, but having it displayed in full screen would be nice.

5) As of yet, you cannot fast forward the video.

I'm using the build that was posted on page 1 of this thread.  The video conversion tool that I used was posted on page 2.  If you have any other builds that contain the video plugin, please post it!

I was able to use a rvf converted from an avi file.  Are you talking about using a native avi file with wett's build?  If so, do mpgs work with it as well? (I've not had time to put one on yet.)  As far as the video goes, small yes, but seems stable.  A little bit of bleed through from whatever that is going on in the background wps. Oh yeah, and the only way I can get the video to stop is to turn off the player.  Other than that, it's a great start.  Too bad we can't have two different versions of RB on one player (wett's is built on one from 11/05).

If the build posted on page one is wett's build, then thats the one I am using.  I haven't got AVI files to work as of yet (only the sound comes through).  mpgs do work, however.  I've converted 2 mpgs so far and they both work.  I've been able to stop the vdeo by pressing the stop button, but it does take the player a few seconds to respond.  Maybe its because I'm playing an mpg converted to rvf (though it really shouldn't matter).  I do agree with you that there is some bleed from the background, but since I use the Rotator wps (an excellent, clean wps btw), it doesn't really affect the video too much. 

Regarding the AVI file that you converted, can you give some details on it?  i.e. original file size, resolution of the avi, what codec it was encoded with, whether it used pcm audio, etc?  Thanks!

By the way.. you actually CAN have as many builds of Rb on your player as you want. I have a Folder called Rockbox Plus where I have the Optimized build and Wett's.  All you need to do.. is to run the Rockbox.iriver file of the build you want to use.

can u explain in a little more detail of how to have more than one build, i get an error message. I followed the steps---new folder with different builds but with different names so it dosen't replace it-----then run the iriver file---then get an error message

I think its beacuse it tries to use my main .rockbox folder when i want it to use a different .rockbox folder(different builds, different codecs)........ but I don't know

I don't believe ROLO works on iPods. And you can only swap rockbox.iriver files, not different .rockbox folders unfortunately.
