fuze v2 too much bugs
« on: October 15, 2011, 03:56:19 PM »
I hear annoying clipping sound during 3 seconds at the beginning of every song.
When the song is played for >1min it plays like "accelerated"(like in fast forward mode) for a few seconds.
Sometimes(especially on FLAC files) the song plays 15sec and switches to next track automatically.
It plays maximum 1,5 songs and then freezes.

Tried on Rockbox 3.9.1, 3.8.1,3.7. The OF version is 02.03.33A. BTW, the OF plays fine, only freezes(always) on Custom Equalizer.

What's wrong with this player, people?

I dont' know, but this is the first time I've heard of symptoms like those. Could be a hardware problem.

Tracks skipping could be some kind of problem with the codec.

The accelerated effect is unknown to me, perhaps something wrong with one of the internal clocks.
We use a separate PLL for audio to make the sample rate more accurate, the OF appears to only use a single PLL for everything (CPU clock and audio clock) but has a less accurate sample rate as a result.

I checked performance with FLACs and mp3s and didn't experience any problems (using r30759)

Today I got the DMA error.. Thought maybe there's a problem with internal memory, where Rockbox is kept? Because the OF is in some other memory unit and it works perfect.. Can I somehow check the internal memory?

You can check the file system for errors in Windows, but if you're getting a DMA error that probably means your player is failing.

Thanks, I've checked it and it's OK.

I saw an article somewhere on the site, it says I can get to player's flash memory, but I'll have to disassembly it. Is there any way to get there through Rockbox console or from PC using USB cable, but without opening the device? Maybe 'badblocks' or 'fsck' would help?

That's not going to help. I would just use the Sandisk firmware as long as it's still working.
