Default playlist directory
« on: October 06, 2011, 11:29:00 PM »
The default playlist directory on my Sansa Fuze is in Files>Playlists.  When I sync playlists from Winamp my playlists are saved in Files><microSD1>.  Is there anyway to redirect the default playlist directory to this location or to add my playlists into the default playlist directory without errors?

Thanks,

-Jim

select the folder you want to use and hold select (to get into the context menu), then "playlist catalogue" > "set as playlist catalog". The playlist catalogue main menu item will then drop you into that folder instead of /Playlists

the only options I have when I get into the context menu and then press "playlist catalog" are "view catalog", "add to playlist", and "add to new playlist" none of which allow me to change the playlist directory

Sorry, maybe I'm not understanding this correctly but here's what I'm doing.  I open the file browser, highlight the folder <microSD1> which is where my playlist files are, hold down the select button, and the menu that comes up does not give me any option to "set as playlist catalog".

Which version/revision of Rockbox are you running?

If you are running the latest release (v3.9.1) then you will not see the updated playlist functionality since it was not added until after the v3.9 branch was created.  v3.9.1 is a bugfix release and also does not include the updated playlist code.  You need to be running a revision of r30177 or later.

My e200 (v1 and v2) are running r30468 and when I highlight <microSD1> and hold select to bring up the context menu, I have a "Playlist Catalogue" item.  Pressing select on this gives me these three items:

Add to Playlist
Add to New Playlist
Set As Playlist Catalogue Directory
