ipod nano, 1st gen: can't turn off
(1/1)
krubi:
I've just installed the current release of RockBox (3.9.1) on my Ipod Nano 1st gen and the problem appeared. It's the same as in IpodFAQ:
--- Quote ---My 1st or 2nd generation iPod doesn't shut down, it only reboots. What's up with that?
The 1st and 2nd gen iPods don't have proper shutdown support in Rockbox.
--- End quote ---
But I have Nano, not these versions in FAQ.
When player is turned on, I press and hold the play button, Shutting down message apears, and then the player suddenly blink (like when the battery is very low and it shuts down by its own) and Apple logo appears instantly, as if I were reloading the player by holding Select+Menu buttons.
I tried to install different older releases, it doesn't help.
gevaerts:
A nano isn't a 1st or 2nd gen ipod, what the FAQ says about those is not related to what you are seeing.
Are you trying this with the cable plugged in? Ipods can't power off while connected to a power source.
dreamlayers:
It might be similar to this issue I have on my 5G Video iPod. The 1G Nano also uses the LTC4066 chip.

No, the cable isn't plugged in.

Yes, the problem looks the similar, except for my player is charging properly via USB.
So, it's not rockbox problem, the player is just broken.
I'm going to use rebooting to original firmware until I could change the device.
Thanks for replies.
