Unable to Play MPEG Video on Ipod 5g Video

(1/1)

Mobes:
Hello,

First time on forum.  I'm testing a video converted from .mp4 to Mpeg.  I created a folder for videos on Rockbox and placed the converted file in that folder.  I did insure that All Files is set as well.

When I click on the actual music file it loads the Mpegplayer menu.  But, when I try to Play from Beginning the screen goes dark.  However, you can tell the screen is on there's just no video playing.

Can someone tell me what I need to do to fix?

Thanks

If they don't decode they're probably not in the right format.  Check the wiki page and make sure you've set everything correctly.

Thanks for the quick response.  Is there a way to determine if it is in the right format?  It was converted to Mpeg and has a .mpg filename.

Maybe a different file converter??  Is there a good free one to use?

Yes, compare the settings you used to the ones on the wiki page.  There is also a list of recommended software programs there.

Ok.  I did get one video to play on Rockbox.  The other one that I was trying, I used the same settings as the one that works and it still does not play.

Not sure why the one will not play.  I'm going to try a couple more.

Thanks for your help.  Let me know if there's anything else I may be missing.
