Creating Talk Files with the Utility
« on: September 20, 2011, 07:52:21 PM »
I click on the bottom button in the Utility Create Talk Files.  A box comes up saying
" Selected Encoder: Rockbox Speex Encoder
Selected TTS Engine: Invalid TTS Configureation"
Is this affecting my installation?
In the box for selecting the folder to generate Talkfiles for:  I browse and find my Sansa in D:\ and select the music folder.  I want the player to speak all playlists, albums, and songs for my blind father.
I click install and get this:
Starting Talk file generation
Reading Filelist...
Starting TTS Engine
Starting Encoder Engine
Voicing entries
Encoding files
Encoding of C:/Users/Maureen/AppData/Local/Temp/talkfiles/00029f9e500c69f3a093bbc7d592c5399.wav
 failed
Cleaning up...
Encoding aborted
Finished
Obviously, the Utility is not working because of the TTS Configuration (whatever that is) or I have selected the wrong folder.
Could someone help me with this.
Thank you.

Ypu need to go to the configuration dialog, select the TTS tab and correct its configuration. An invalid TTS cannot do what a TTS is supposed to do -- speak text.
