--- Quote ---There are two ways to install Rockbox: automated and manual. The automated way is the preferred method of installing Rockbox for the majority of people. Rockbox Utility is a graphical application that does almost everything for you. However, should you encounter a problem, then the manual way is still available to you.

Any reason you've chosen the more difficult directions if you don't understand them and dislike that they make the process much more difficult?

I go to the Utility and hit Quick Start and choose complete installation and I get a box come up that says I have to have a prerequisite....Bootloader installation requires you to provide a firmware file...etc.  This is the point that I am at.

I've just discovered some of my problems.  I have a sansa e260v2 with 3.01.16a firmware on it.  Rockbox says it only supports 3.01.11 or 3.01.14 or 3.01.16.  I'm trying to find an older firmware file to download.  Does anybody know where I can find one?
Another thing, when I go to download the /mkamsboot I only have win32 to choose.  I am running win64.  When I double click on this file to run it it flashes on the screen then disappears and nothing happens.  Am I screwed in trying to get Rockbox on my Player?

saratoga:
Rockbox will support all versions of the e200v2 firmware, so you don't need to find an older one.

And anyway, you already have a thread on this open, so I'll just merge them.

mmartin622:
Sorry about the double thread.  When I click on Complete Installation in Quick Start with the Utility, it asks for a firmware file and to browse for it.  I do and double click on the 3.01.16a version that is on my player.  This is the box that then pops up:
 Downloading Bootloader file
Download finished (cache used).
[ERR] Original firmware unknown. please try an other version.  Tested e200v2 versions are: 3.01.11, 3.01.14 amd 3.01.16.
Could not load
C:/Users/Maureen/Desktop/rbinstall/e200v203.01.16azip
I am stalled at this point.  What do I do now?  Also does the fact that I am running 64 bit have anything to do with my problems?
Thanks
