Video in the right format, won't show up in file list

I've got an iPod 5G video, with the latest build (3.9.1) installed. I want to watch videos on it, so I copied them over to the player, in a Videos directory. But when i go to the directory on the player itself, it shows an empty list.

I've tried an MPG and a MOV, the former encoded from the latter with WinFF, with the correct preset (rockbox, ipod 5g, fullscreen). Neither show in the file list.

I've also tried Elephant's Dream in MP4 format. It shows up in the file list, but Rockbox used the audio player to play it, and obviously there's no video.

What do you have the "file view" mode set to?

I had to have a look around to even find that setting, but apparently it was on Music. I set it to All Files, and it works now.

Is that the default setting?

Default is all files.  But its fairly easy to change without noticing it since its on the quickscreen.
