Imperative to keep Original Firmware file after successful install?

I was reading through the manual after installing (successfully) onto a Clip+ but didn't notice any line regarding whether the downloaded original firmware bin file was required to be kept if one managed to complete the install.

If it does need to be kept on the device, is it alright to place it into a sub-directory or possibly even the .rockbox sub-directory?

(Apologies if this is the incorrect section and/or has been asked prior - in the latter instance searching for original firmware mentions in threads turns up a lot of results otherwise not related to the question I happen to have)

You can just download it again if you want to reinstall for some reason.

Alright, good to know. Was ultimately curious as to whether keeping it was dependent on future upgrades to Rockbox or it was there as a fallback in case something unfortunate transpired.
