My power bottum is damaged and dont work is there any other way to turn the clip+ on and off without it? like changung some options i can power it up but only by usb

saratoga:
You can power it up by USB but only into the sandisk software.  You could change the firmware patcher to boot into rockbox on USB insert.  Then I guess you could add a menu option to rockbox to shutdown the player.

Probably easier to just fix the button or buy a new player though.

Same issue happened to me. I hacked together a battery pack spliced into a USB cable to "jumpstart" the player by plugging it in, which works just fine.

How would I go about changing the patcher to boot Rockbox upon USB insert, though? Since breaking I've been forced to use the stock firmware, which I'm not really a fan of since getting used to Rockbox.

saratoga:
You'd need to change the assembly code in mkamsboot then patch a new fimware file with the modified mkamsboot.  I would search around and see if you can find code to do it.  I believe people have made the changes before.

I've been searching around to no avail. Somebody mentioned they'd made a patch in another thread but I was unable to find this patch. I really don't want to touch the assembly considering I know almost nothing of assembly and I know I can probably do damage if I mess up the bootloader (at least I can't think of a way to reflash it if I can't boot).

Anyone else that's actually accomplished this can provide more feedback?
