New files are not found (Sansa e280)
(1/1)
kronion:
Hi,
I hope this has not yet been here before - at least I did not find it...
I am using a Sansa e280 with a 2GB microSD card and so far it worked very well with Rockbox, since I prefer browsing a folder structure rather than depending on a database.
Now, all of a sudden I do not find any of the files that I have on the SD card or that I put on the player itself - although I can see the folders. To make it more clear: I can browse to the SD card and I see e.g. the folder "Podcast", but it is shown to be empty. The same happens, if I copy the folder with its files to the player.
Furthermore, I cannot browse the folder MUSIC on the player.
My first suspicion was, that I accidentally took out the SD card while playing (happened in my pocket) and that screwed something like "registering the files" or so - but I have not clue... The files are there, I can see them via USB on the computer (I am using a Mac).
Does anyone know a solution? Thanks a lot!

Make sure the file browser is set to show all files, or all supported files. You can read in the manual how to check and change this setting (Hint: Options -> General Settings -> File View -> Show Files).
Oh, and I forgot to say, I don't own a Sansa, and there might be other conditioning factors. Have you checked the SD card for filesystem errors? (The Mac might be able to see damaged files better than Rockbox)

Wow, playing around in the "File view" options helped (I did not find "Show files", but the German translation might be misleading). The MUSIC folder in / also re-appeared.
Thanks a lot, you really saved me from a very boring day of work in the lab without my podcasts :)
%edit: I still haven't got clue why this changed, let's hope it does not happen more often.
