Problem running rockboxdev.sh

(1/1)

garethjv:
Hi, this is my first post here but I have fiddled around with rockbox for some years - mainly because the scrollpad on my iriver H10 is faulty and I needed to modify the rockbox software to be usable with the new 'values' it returns.  For this I am eternally grateful to the Rockbox community and allowing my H10 to continue to live (the original firmware became unusable long ago.)

Not sure if this is the right place to report this problem but...
my problem relates to running the script to install and build the arm compiler - it didn't work at the weekend without some fiddling - the binutils file has been renamed on the server so the script was giving error 404 when run (don't know if this is still happening though - I'll check later).  I eventually got it all working by downloading the required file from a different mirror but it took some hunting to find.

If anyone is interested in solving this issue properly then I'll find out the exact details when I get home.

Cheers,

Gareth

You can file a bug report for the build environment on the tracker.

Have done.  I've just checked and the problem is still occurring.  It did take me some time to get the cross-compiler up and running because of this fault, the manual install instructions on the cross-compile information page are inadequate for arm-eabi-elf targets and should be updated to be of any use.

I had the same problem yesterday but it seems to be working now. I think the binutils version that the RockBox uses for iriver's has been put back on the GNU FTP site.
