RaaA android related issue with album art and Gallery
jimbilly:
how are RaaA users dealing with album art images showing up in the android Gallery as photos. Is there a work-around for this, other than embedded art?
seems that Android requires AlbumArt.jpg and rockbox doesn't use that filename as valid AA.
thanks

Simply create a blank file and call it .nomedia. Whatever directory this file is placed into will indicated to the Android media scanner that any media files inside this directory should not be indexed and left alone.
putting an empty file called .nomedia in the /sdcard/rockbox folder should do it..

Ummmm...no. Just no ;)
For it to work using the .nomedia file you would need to put it in the topmost level of your music catalogue, but, be warned if you use any media player other than Rockbox...doing this will sacrifice Android's ability to play these files (it's going to hide your music, as well) as you're specifically telling the Android OS "there's no media here, or, none I want you to be aware of".
Rockbox will still be able to play your music, though.

Good point, but who needs another media player.,,lol
But you're right obv.. The above does however prevent the theme graphics from showing up in the gallery which is a good thing anyway..

I cannot confirm that. On my Android device the stock Music.apk finds my album art files which are named folder.jpg and placed along the albums. That's also true for the sample tracks HTC put on the SD card that came with the device.
I don't see much of a problem to also check for AlbumArt.jpg, but since Music.apk deals with folder.jpg just fine I don't see a reason for that either.
