'jump to WPS' tag for touch screen targets?

the QS behavior aside,  i'm wondering if there is a logic to what 'resumeplayback' does from different screens,   it seems like now that i have this button on my sbs, I get varying results.   sometimes it acts like 'back' or 'up' and sometime its acts like the play button similar to my sansa e280.   from most submenus it goes 'up' at least one level, sometime multiple levels and eventually to wps.  from some screens, such as file browsing, it goes directly back to wps no matter how deep in the tree you are.

this is how it behaved based on the various menu items:
files:   jump to wps
database:  jump to wps
Settings:   acts like menu button, for most submenus, however:
Settings -> Theme Settings: acts like 'up' or 'back,  it takes you back step by step till you reach the top menu.
Playlists:   jump to wps
Plugins:  acts like menu
System:  acts like menu

for the cases where it acts like 'menu', once you get to the top menu, pressing this 'resumeplayback' button will jump to wps.
