Rockboy on Fuze v2 - how to improve speed?
« on: August 26, 2011, 08:38:28 AM »
Tried using maximum frameskip and not scaling the screen, but it still lags big time.
It's a little better if I turn the sound off, but that's something I don't want to do.

What other steps can I do to improve the speed of Rockboy?

My ROMs are on a microSD card...would it help to put them on the hard drive?
Is there a previous version of Rockboy that works better (I've heard the 09-09-09 version was great)?

Other then buying a faster mp3 player I don't think you can do anything.

I'm going to take a leap of faith that your error was about memory. The fuze doesn't have enough working ram (8mb) to play music and any game larger than 249K at the same time. As to the speed problem, I just turn the fame skips up for the part of the game that overloads the fuze's processor. The lastest rockboy with the added save spots plays as well as the July 2009 build did for me.
