No sound on games?
« on: August 24, 2011, 10:42:15 AM »
Installed Rockbox on my Sansa Fuze v2 the other day, and can't get sound on the games I tried (Jewels, Doom, Pong, etc.).  Pacbox didn't have a ROM file so I couldn't check that.  I tried adjusting the volume in the "Playback Control" menu but nothing helps.  Any ideas?

Most of those games don't have sound in the first place. Doom has sound effects, but not music, but I think they can be turned on and off anyway.

Tried Doom again, didn't even hear sound effects.  I'm trying a few Rockboy ROMs later, but I assume they're supposed to have sound?

Assuming the option for sound is turned on, Rockboy does have sound, albeit not very good sound emulation.

The manual explains how to turn the sound option on:

Thanks...and I found an on/off toggle for the sound in Doom, so it works OK now.  Still no sound on the other regular Plugin games, which is kind of lame.  There's a "Volume Control" and everything, but it doesn't seem to have an effect.

What plugin games are you talking about?  Some games have playback controls for continuing to listen to music while you play the game.
