"Play next" command for a playlist item — should move song next to current

Hi!

When browsing through current playlist's contents, you might want to start listening to a certain song. At the same time, you dont' want to interrupt current song.

So what do you do? You move the song next to currently playing song — so that it will play next.

But that's not very convenient. You have to drag your song all the way through your playlist. Also, you might forget whether currently playing song is above or below your current position in the playlist.

A simple solution could be a "Play next" command in the context menu of a playlist item. This command should move selected song next to currently playing song.

Llorean:
I would name it "move next" rather than "Play next." By using the "play" word it sounds like you actually want it to move the playback position to the highlighted song after the current one ends, rather than moving the highlighted song up/down to the playback position.

Good point, Llorean! Any chances it'll be implemented?

Chronon:
There's a chance, but nobody can say what that is.  The only way to guarantee it will be worked on is if you do the work.

lolmaus:
By the way, will this method work when shuffle is on?
