Clip+ Rockbox firmware disappearing

(1/2) > >>

zomgbear:
So recently i installed the newest firmware of Rockbox (3.9) on my Clip+.  I love it, but for some reason, whenever i plug the clip+ into my computer to add something to it,  it resets my firmware back to the original clip+ firmware and reconfigs my usb settings to AUTO.

I keep having to reinstall the bootloader everytime i plug it into my computer...
Is there a way to stop this?

Chronon:
Are you sure that's necessary?  Are you inserting the cable while Rockbox is running or while it's powered down?  If you turn the player off and on again does it not boot into Rockbox?

zomgbear:
when i remove it from my computer - it's as if bootloader has never been installed.  It ignores the rockbox firmware and goes straight into the original firmware.

I usually insert cable when it's powered down i believe.

Which (unless I'm wrong, but I think this is the case for the clip+) will make the Rockbox bootloader load the Sandisk firmware.

Chronon:
It will stay in the original firmware after a USB session.  Did you try manually powering it down and then booting it again?
