Equalizer preset loading problems on Sansa Fuze V1
(1/1)
nautilusny:
Whenever I load an EQ preset (from the 'Browse EQ Presets' screen), my Fuze freezes for about a second and then jumps to either the beginning of the track or jumps back about a minute within the current track.
I am running Rockbox v 3.9 (and I had the same problem in 3.8) but older versions (<3.6??) were working fine. My Sansa is 4GB and this problem happens whether I am playing a track from the built-in storage or the micro SD card. It does not happen while I am using the OF.
Googles results and a forum search did not help me. I am a n00b here so I would appreciate some gentle help. Thanks.
Chronon:
It sounds like you have found a bug. I will try to replicate your findings after work. The more we can figure out about this behavior, the clearer the bug report will be. :)
Some things you can investigate in the meantime: Do other sound or playback settings (crossfeed, crossfade, shuffle, enabling the EQ, etc.) cause similar behavior?
nautilusny:
Good catch there, Chronon. Crossfeed, shuffle and enabling the EQ itself (without choosing a preset EQ) work fine but it happens when I enable Crossfade, for example, to shuffle or when I turn the Crossfade off. Once I enable the crossfade, I can switch to another without the skipping.
Does this happen to anyone else?
Chronon:
Interesting. I didn't manage to test this after work yesterday. I'll go have a play now and see what I see.
EDIT:
I am not seeing this on my Clip v1 running 3.9. I just successively loaded 3 different EQ presets and Rockbox handled it normally. The Clip v1 and the Fuze v1 have pretty similar hardware except for certain obvious differences like the screen. It would be helpful for someone else with a Fuze v1 to see if they can reproduce your findings but this does give some indication that there's a factor that's specific to your player that is having an effect. You could try clearing your settings (feel free to save your configuration first if you want to restore it later), checking the disk for errors, or reinstalling Rockbox.
