So what? There are tools that run on Windows too, and there are even tools that work the same way on Windows as on Linux. This is true for the skinupdater.

The page I mentioned earlier has the information how to use it. Seriously, if you want helpful answers you have to ask your questions a useful way. "What do I have to do" doesn't enable anyone to help you with the problems you're having since nobody knows your problem. And I'm not motivated to guess it, my crystal ball is in repairs.

I already said I'm a newbie. How do I execute the skinupdater? How do I give him the input and the output file? Where do I type "skinupdater [OPTIONS] infile [outfile] "? I'm used to GUIs and never used a tool via cmd.

Into your computers command line. On Windows you can launch it from the start menu. Then you can use the 'cd' command to change directory to wherever you downloaded your WPS file and the updater tool to. For simplicity, make both places the same folder. Then type the command from the wiki page.
If none of that makes sense, you'll probably want to consult the windows help files or else google and read up on how to use the command line in Windows. Its pretty simple, but understanding how it works helps.

I got it. Thanks for your help. Maybe the rockbox forum was the wrong place to ask how cmd works.
