e270 WIPEOUT
Turia Madi:
I need to know how to delete flapping everything from my Sansa Sandisk e270 v1 and then install the rockbox firmware.
Tried to install rockbox, and when i start my device, it shows "Scanning disk..." and won't change.
my original firmware was burnt as hell, and did a lot of random erroneous stuff when i tried to use it . . .thought installing rockbox would bypass or eliminate whatever corrupted shite was on there, but now i can't even view it on the compy; when i try to uninstall rockbox from the device, it tells me the mountpoint does not exist, and when i try autodetect, the program crashes.
Please help! Thank you.
Chronon:
Your sansa should be working properly prior to installation. Try formatting the device from within Sansa's firmware. It sounds like you might have file system corruption. After that, I expect that installing Rockbox should work.

how do i format the device from within Sansa's firmware; especially since it doesn't appear as a drive when i plug it in?
Chronon:
Does the SanDisk firmware boot? There should be an item under its System menu, if I recall correctly.

It doesn't seem to. Like I said in the op, it shows a rockbox screen that says "Scanning disk...", and plugging it into the computer has no effect.
I'm also pretty sure it freezes at this point, because I have to "reset all" by holding the power button down in order to shut it off.
