Njones:
Any progress on getting USB to work on Fuze v2?

MrRockboto:
I been waiting for that same thing. This would be the perfect player if they could get the usb working and make the internal an external memory load as one drive.

This is already possible, but does not work in 100% of the cases that have tried it.

Setup a development environment and apply this patch.

Your mileage may vary, it may work for you, it may not.

esm:
FS#11664 has been closed (thank you!) and USB Mass Storage seems to be working on my Fuze v2.

Would it be appropriate to remove the || defined(SANSA_FUZEV2) from line 276 in rbutil/mkamsboot/dualboot/dualboot.S, and build/post a new mkamsboot ?

[EDIT: I've done so, built a new bootloader, installed it, and tested on my Fuze v2. I can confirm that behavior is as expected: when plugged in to computer, it boots into Rockbox USB mode. Plugged into Griffin iTrip car adapter, boots into Rockbox normal mode (alas, lineout still doesn't work). Power button + left button boot into OF.]

esm:
Okay, it's not quite time yet to enable USB-on-boot. I've seen occasional crashes on boot:

Data abort
at 300600DC
FSR 0x8
(domain 0, fault 8)
address 0xFFFFBF78

Associated message from /var/log/messages :

Dec 17 15:47:20 r kernel: usb 1-3.3: device descriptor read/64, error -110

There appears to be no lasting harm from this: shutting down the Fuze player works fine, restart works fine, and USB works fine (sporadically) on subsequent attempts.
