Handling filenames in the playlist view...
(1/1)
GigaBrick:
So I've realized now that the playlist shows the track's filename instead of the tag, and I would have to apply a patch and a custom build to change this... I don't really want to do that.
The main problem I have is that the scrolling that the track does isn't fast enough. I will scroll down the playlist, and before the track can even scroll past the artist and album information in the file name, my backlight turns off because I have it set really low--bad battery, still have to replace it. Even if it weren't for the backlight I think it still takes too long.
I've started to edit my filenames to shorten them up a little bit, but I have to at least keep the artist name because I have so many songs that are of the same title from different artists, that if I had only a track number or a title then I wouldn't know which track was from which artist. For the most part this is working out, but there are still some artists that have long names.
So I'm wondering if there is some kind of option to turn the side-scrolling speed up, or maybe some kind of button I can press to just immediately skip to the end since that's generally the part I'm interested in. I thought that holding Long Right would do this, but all I manage to do is make the playlist skip to the track.
So anyway, just looking for some general advice on what to do. I usually handle my collection on my computer with tags because the files are always have an inconsistent naming format--I'm trying to fix all them but hey, i'm lazy, i don't want to do them all. :P

It's strongly recommended you read the manual before asking questions. In this case, you're asking how to do something (change the side scrolling speed) that is in the manual. It's even simply referred to as scrolling speed.

To avoid having to read the manual, you can always download the pdf version and search for the topic. In this case you could search for 'scrolling' or 'scroll speed' and find the answer.
