File name question
« on: July 27, 2011, 11:37:02 AM »
Just got rockbox for my ipod classic(120gb) and love it so far. The eq is fucking awesome.

I'm having some issues, though,

Is there a way to show the id3 tags instead of the file names when searching/looking through my library? I didn't have my library backed up on my PC, so i had to transfer everything from my ipod before i installed rockbox. Itunes has this thing where it renames the files with letters like "FCXM" "GTUD", so i don't know what is what. I can rename every song, but doing that for 16k songs is kind of a deal breaker for me =(

If your files are properly tagged then you can use the database, which builds a database of all the tags.

You could also trivially rename the files from the tags using a number of PC programmes.

However, be aware that itunes uses its own database, and your files may not actually have proper tags.
