Database problems - sansa fuze v2

(1/1)

dawn:
hello,

I've had rockbox installed on my fuze v2 for almost a year now. But I've never been able to initialize the database. each time I try, it starts building the database and then stops.

Today I tried reformatting everything and reinstalling rockbox. There is nothing on the player, but it says "building database...452 found (PREV to return)"

Anyone have any advice?

saratoga:
Under the debug menu, you can enable database logging.  If theres some file on the player that has bad tags that crash the player, it should be the last file in the log.

dawn:
I don't think it's a file with bad tags because I have no files on it currently.

and it also doesn't "crash" the player. everything else works fine the database building just stops at a certain point.

but I tried to find a place to enable database logging with no luck.

thanks for the reply.

Ah well thats a known bug.  The database will fail if theres zero music files found.

Ok. I added one album and it worked!!!

I am so excited!

Now let's see if it can handle the rest of my music collection...: \
