how do i install rockboy?

there are no instructions on how to install rockboy anywhere , just some vage thing that says something about roms , also it dont say whaere to put the roms , i look in plugins and all subfolders, games and applications and there is no rockboy folder , i have ipod 5 g video with rockbox on it
also none of the plugind or anything else works , i just get can not open on every single thing i click on  demos, games ,applications, credits , nothing works ,why?
where do i download the rockboy plugin?how do i install it?
where do i put the roms?
and how do i get the plugind and everything to work and not say can not  open on everything i click on?

Rockboy is built into rockbox.  You don't/can't specifically install it, just rockbox. 

If you have questions about how to use it, see the rockboy section of the manual.

yea its not in my rockbox, i guess i have a version that dont have it ,so i should just reinstall a different rockbox version that has it then right?

so where does it appear?how do i know it has it in the version i am using or not?

 and yes i did read about it but it is very vague and doesnt say much

someone said you use the file browser ,so would i not go to plugins/games/rockboy or plugins/applications/rockboy or wherever it is to use it?

or do i just go to file and then browse to the rom folder and click on the rom i want to play ?
and dont tell me to read the instructions here  cause it sucks and dont tell you anything , thats why there are like 5 posts here asking how to use it , but they all say to read the instructions here or whatever that dont tell you anything

Our version always includes it.  If you're running some version where the author removed it, you'd have to talk to them.

It should be located at the path /.rockbox/rocks/viewers/rockboy.rock.  Please install a current build or the most recent release if you want further support.

That's all you have to do. Rockboy is a "viewer" plugin; i.e. you "play" a file that it uses (GB ROMs in this case) and the plugin will launch automatically. The manual even states this, and shows you how to use the plugin.

From the manual:

Viewer plugins get started automatically by opening an associated file (i.e. text files, chip8 games), or from the Open with option on the Context Menu.

And if you look in the list of plugins you clearly see Rockboy as viewer plugin. Why are people writing a manual if it's not read? It's a viewer, all plugins are installed with Rockbox, and unless your player doesn't have Rockboy working (which you can easily check with the manual or wiki) the path it is installed isn't of interested either -- just use it as described in the manual.

You place the ROM you want to play on your device wherever you want, then click on it.

Please read the manual again.

Make sure the file browser is set to show all files or to show supported files though. If it is set to only show music files, ROMs will not be visible.

Rockboy is a Nintendo Game Boy and Game Boy Color emulator for Rockbox based on the gnuboy emulator. To start a game, open a ROM file saved as .gb or .gbc in the file browser.     

this is from the manual so my question is where do i get a rom file to even save it as .gb or .gbc

In most countries, the legal way to do this is to buy a ROM dumper and then download the file from the game cart.  But this is off topic here.  If you want to know more about emulation and roms, I suggest google.
