Sansa c250 cannot find/delete files

Sansa c250
Rockbox 3.9

I normally use wmp to sync playlists to my sansa.  Prior to installing rockbox I formatted to delete everything.  Installed rockbox and everything went fine.  I then opened wmp and sync'd my playlists to the device.  The actual sync process went through as normal as well.

Once finished, I started rockbox, went into database and noticed that all of the files I put on are there...but are not listed under "files" ("files" is empty)

Now that rockbox is installed, when plugged in the directory comes up and there are no music directories and no music files listed.  Checking properties, I have 18MB of 1.8GB available so all of the files I "sync'd" earlier with wmp are there somewhere...I just don't know where or how to get to them.

Now that I have done more reading I want to just drag and drop the files and not use wmp anymore but I would like to delete everything I put on earlier.  But, where are they saved?  The files are on the device, they play fine..I just can't find the directory to be able to delete them all (and not do it individually on the player.)

Any help?

Chronon:
You will need to put your player back in MTP mode, then remove them the same way you put them on.  In MTP mode you don't get direct access to the file system, so you don't have any control over where files get saved or under what names.

Putting it back in mtp mode...is that done in rockbox or do I have to start it on the sansa firmware and change?  Still learning here..

Chronon:
The original firmware.  Rockbox only does MSC.

This is what I have tried:

-boot back to sansa firmware, change usb to "auto detect" (was on msc)
-plug in, start up wmp...says no files on device
-boot into rockbox firmware, start up wmp again...says no files on device

What am I missing?

When I installed rockbox I changed usb to msc in the sansa firmware and never touched that setting until now.  So, when I sync'd after installing rockbox, it was still on msc.

I had to boot to the sansa firmware, then format on the device there.  I did not see files on the device before the format (wmp said no files and even the device said no files) but formatted anyway and that took care of it.

However, now rockbox doesn't load lol.  It gets to the sansa boot screen then says can't load rockbox.mi4, file not found.  I will try to reinstall now.
