mp3 Tag 'Change': Initialization, not Update; still true ?

Just changed a bunch of tags on my local files, gonna sync back to iPod soon.
Did a search here resulting in older threads, looking to know whats the best way to update RockBoxs dbase; the 'Update' option or to re-initialization.

Is re-initialization still the best way to do this ?
