Sansa E280 -Scanning Disk Problem
redblade8:
Hello,
I got an error recently when starting up my Sansa.
When I turned it on, it started to scan the disk for some reason.
It then came up with the white screen of death and said:
Undefined instruction
at 40007D58 {0}
Now, I have gotten error with my sansa coming up with 'scanning disk' and then white screening in the past, and found that tapping/holding the record button would make it say 'cleared' and then my sansa would work normally after that.
In this build ( rockbox 3.8 ) it doesn't let me do that.
I only get this error again and again below:
*PANIC*
Stkov main {0}
...and a white screen of death...
I tryed going to the original firmware, and then shut it off and tryed again with the same *PANIC* error.
I turned it on and let it sit there. It attempts to scan the disk, and then comes up with the panic error.
I tryed turning it on, and just before it scans disk, I slid the hold button on. When I put the hold button to off, ( which would normally make the screen re-appear again ) the screen is black & the mp3 is NOT turned off either.
I turned my MP3 off, and then on again.
I got the error
*PANIC*
No font!
I then booted into the original firmware and went to rockbox to see if an update would fix this.
-Updated my Sansa to Rockbox 3.9
It didn't give me the white screen and panic error this time, it just said 'scanning disk' without any changes. So I let it sit there scanning the disk for an hour.
After an hour, and it still wasn't finished scanning, I turned it off.
Turned it back on to get the white screen and *PANIC* Stkov main {0} error.
It now alternates between perpetual scanning (though it doesn't happen often) and the *PANIC* Stkov main ( much more frequent ) white screen of death error.
Anyone Know How To Fix This??
Thankyou ;)
Chronon:
First make sure your file system is clean. Connect your Sansa to your PC and check it for errors.
redblade8:
Sure. I'll give this a go. I did it Not too Long ago, so I skipped it when I plugged it in last. I'll let you Know how it goes.
It didn't find error's last time (again, it wasn't that long ago ..) which is why I skipped it.
This time it said that error's were found/fixed...
Here's What I Got:

It now boots up properly.
At first it booted up with 'scanning disk' ( so I thought it still wasn't going to work...) but then it went to the main menu.
Thankyou For Your Help! Have A Great Day! ;D
