Installation / Removal > Rockbox Utility
Old versions remains?
(1/1)

Hi!
Just installed latest Rockbox Utility and firmware 3.9 and I see in the Info tab that some files from older versions remain i.e.:
/.rockbox/rocks/viewers/bmp.rock
/.rockbox/rocks/viewers/jpeg.rock
both from 3.7.1 and marked in red.
Is it normal or should I delete them and re-install?
Thanks! ;D

This is an unwanted side effect of plugins getting renamed. Rockbox Utility stores the version of files it installed but it currently doesn't have a way to delete outdated files, only show them. It's on my todo list since long ... you could uninstall Rockbox and reinstall, which should fix the problem (unless there is another problem in the uninstall code :) ). Apart from that there is no real harm in having outdated plugins around -- they are likely to be incompatible, so Rockbox won't load them. It's a bit ugly, admitted :)
