89vanman:
hi, ive been using rockbox for quite some tome now and i recently added doom to my player and now when i plug it in it constantly cycles between the sansa screen and the rockbox screen and it eventually freezes, i an unable to access it at all, i have never
had a problem like this b4, does ne one have any insight on this issue?
Chronon:
Please don't use "text talk" here. It hinders accessibility for those who use translation software or screen readers.
Installing Doom shouldn't affect Rockbox's ability to boot up at all. It's just some files in a directory that doesn't get touched until you launch the Doom plugin. What generation player is it? Can you boot the original firmware and get USB access through that?
89vanman:
its a v1 and if i hold the center button while plugged in it will go to its "on" screen as if you where using it for music listening other then that i cannot get it to load the original firmware. plus i also have windows 7 now ( i have yet to install Linux), could that be the root cause of my issues?
Chronon:
Have you tried holding the |<< button while it's booting to make it try to load the original firmware? If that doesn't work then you can try to restore the original firmware using recovery mode:

You will have to install the Rockbox bootloader again afterward.
