http://download.rockbox.org/daily/manual/rockbox-ipodvideo/rockbox-buildch4.html#x7-440004.2
shows the option, but since I never use the Database I don't know exactly how to bring up the Database Menu, on Android or otherwise!
It's likely to be something along the lines of: Select Database, press Menu.

Settings - General Settings - Database => Gather Runtime Data
But I think it's disabled by default so maybe it's another issue in your case.

Thanks for adding a 1920 x 1080 option
. Can I make a further request for a portrait version? 1080 wide and 1920 high.
I'll have to start making a theme.
Are there any fonts bigger than the size 50 ones in the anti aliased font pack?

Request 1: please can there be a Galaxy Note 800x1280 version. On this ICS device, 720x*** version does not appear properly. Only the 480x800 version appears well, though of course too small. But for display size, this 480x800 version works well on Galaxy Note & on Galaxy Player 4.2 (android 3.6).
Request 2: on both devices the Android status bar is not visible - & it should be if possible - this is exacerbated by the too tiny & unnecessary (?) Rockbox/Cubby status bar. Can this be rectified?
Request 3: the Rockbox "Line" widget is great on the Galaxy Note, but on the Galaxy Player the "song titles" text is taller & doesn't quiet fit - slightly smaller height & narrow font would improve greatly.
Feedback: I set up devices (& lock down un-required access where possible) for non-techies using Database only. On these Galaxy devices, both Android Rockbox database & the "Rockbox Line" widget work superbly - almost as well as the more developed Sansa Clip Zip. Feedback from such users is intense operational dislike of "flashier" players like samsung stock & google compared to operating Android Rockbox. However, it's too easy to alter settings inadvertently on the Android version - & some "instabilities" noted may be for this reason.
Thank you for your excellent work.

I've installed your 1280x800 apk on my Nexus 7 and 320x480 on my Samsung Galaxy Ace. Bit of a relief really as I've been looking for a decent mp3 player on my android devices having been using rockbox on my mp3 player for ages.
On my Samsung phone it displays perfectly from the word go but I had to add cabbie_v2_android_12800x800 to make the display visible on the nexus.
Works nicely, however, one flaw...I don't seem to be able to get auto bookmarking to work - I've set it to bookmark on stop and update on stop and combinations and for some reason the automatic version just doesn't do anything - I can manually create one but that's not a nice easy shortcut, can anyone tell me if I am supposed to set something else to make bookmarking work please?
thanks
Chris

Please can there be a Galaxy Note 800x1280 version.
There are millions of Galaxy Notes at large!
On both ICS & Jelly Bean, only the 480x800 version works properly on the Galaxy Note (720x*** version does not).
In fact the 480x800 version works & appears superbly as it is (incl database).
The only need for 800x1280 version is not to enlarge text (this is just right on the 480x800 version)) but simply to see more tracks on the greater screen area. Thank you for your excellent work.

There is a 1280x800 version that you can use as well. I'm using that version on my Nexus 7.

Just got a Nexus 4, which has a 768x1280 LCD. For now I can use the 720x1280 build, but native resolution builds should be added to the list.

Which of rasher's builds do i want to use on a Samsung Galaxy Note 3?

Note: My use of rockbox tends to be limited to just playing music; I don't use fancy themes, or graphic equalizers, or playlists, or most plugins. So I may not notice when those things don't work, or if a patch of mine interferes with those things; if so, point that out to me.

The Note 3 has a 1920x1080 screen, so get that build.

As the number of screen pixels seem to be increasing rapidly (2560x1600 at this point), I have a question:
Would it make sense to only have two large pixel (4000x4000) Android Rockbox builds, one landscape and one portrait? Then, the user could create or install a theme that matches the screen orientation and pixels whether it be 800x480 or 2560x1600.
Perhaps the rest of the builds would be rendered unnecessary.

I think one of the big overall goals was to create a display-independent build for Android, which also features an Android-esque UI, that can then be distributed in the Play Store.
I haven't been on IRC in some time, though, so I'm a bit at a loss as to what's been going on with that as of late.

Thank you very much Rasher!
I'm enjoying now rockbox on my rooted old samsung galaxy i7500 as I was on my ipod 5th gen video and mini!!
Just one question: why do you publish daily builds?
Is it necessary to do it so often??
Thanks anyway for the excellent work!!!
