Does Rockbox still support hardware EQ function on iPod Video 5G

I was thinking of buying a secondhand iPod Video 5G simply because I've heard a lot of rave reviews about Rockbox's support on the iPod Video 5G's hardware EQ. Does Rockbox still support this function?

IIRC the tone controls use the hardware EQ on the Video.  Its pretty crappy though compared to our EQ so you're probably going to be disappointed.

Thats strange that they are crappy because over on HeadFi.com there has been rave reviews about the hardware EQ function saying that that function is awesome and brings a deeper, wider soundstage and richer bass.

It's always possible that the rave reviews were for the *software* EQ that Rockbox does bring to the iPod video

What is so funny about their rave reviews is the fact Rockbox "support" for the iPod 5G hardware EQ acted as an unintentional audiophool detector. 

When the Hardware EQ was "supported" it didn't actually work.

The two shelf filters did, and have remained as the tone controls, but the peaking filters never did anything.
