Database not showing up on Rockbox 3.9 Sansa Fuze V2.

(1/1)

tmansdc:
Yesterday I manually installed Rockbox 3.9 (upgrading from 3.7) by removing the .rockbox 3.7 folder and replacing it with the 3.9 .rockbox folder as the utility hadn't been updated to download 3.9 yet.

Everything was seeming to work fine till I asked rockbox to compile/build a database and it shows it doing it, even showing a "scanning disk" message when i reboot it. However, the database shows nothing at all!

What is the problem? 3.7 worked just fine with this. Is it because i installed the new version wrong? Or is it another problem? Please help with this!

Everything else works just fine both Rockbox and OF. OF version is 02.22.26a or something like that (the firmware that introduced replaygain and folder viewing) and Rockbox is 3.9

Raiden175:
Just use Rockbox Utility to install it. It's up now so it should work. I think you just might of Missed something when doing it manually. Happened to me too once. So just use Utility and it should work :)

Is the database menu totally empty (no submenus for Artist / Genre / etc.), or does it just not show your tracks?

The database schema was changed in Rockbox 3.8, requiring a reinitialization of the database when upgrading from an earlier version (database settings → Initialize Now). (If you'd like to retain the playback statistics from your old database, you need to export them (database settings → Export Modifications) prior to upgrading; that is, using Rockbox 3.7. If you still have the old database around, you can downgrade to 3.7 to do the export. The exported file should be reimported automatically when you reinitialize the database with Rockbox 3.9.)

Once the DB has been rebuilt, your tracks should show up after the next reboot. If that doesn't work, please delete your database files (/.rockbox/database*.*) before retrying the process. (You should file a bug report if this workaround is required.)

Rockbox Utility doesn't need to be updated in any way to support newer versions of Rockbox. It needs some metadata from the download server that is generated automatically. As with download mirrors, just giving it some time fixes the issue.
